Primark Facebook Live Walk Around

Live streaming the opening of Primark’s new store in Milan using a DJI Osmo and published to Facebook Live via the 3xScreen MCR

For a company that has no marketing department, it is necessary to get creative when it comes to getting the word out about exciting new events.

This is exactly what Primark had to do for the opening of their first Italian store in Milan. While Primark has no official marketing team, their busy social media team leverages their sizeable social media presence in order to communicate with their customers.

Primark asked 3xScreen Media to help with the live broadcast of a walk around through the brand new store just minutes before it opened to the public for the very first time.

Not only did we need to provide a solution to get the live feed from a location with no internet and very little mobile coverage, but we were also required to stream this to the relatively new Facebook Live platform in order to reach the many customers who follow Primark on Facebook. The cherry on this cake was that this single camera walk around was to be filmed on the nifty little DJI Osmo.

Shot exclusively on an iPhone 6 mounted in the DJI Osmo, our tailored mobile uplink solution utilised a number of different bandwidth sources to get the live video feed from the store to the 3xScreen MCR where we streamed, simultaneously, to the Primark Facebook Live Page and YouTube page.
