19 May 3xScreen Integrates Tricaster Wireless Tally Light System
In another move towards improving the quality and efficiency of our workflow, we here at 3xScreen Media have integrated the Boxx Wireless Tally system into our Tricaster event live production workflow.
Though they’re not always necessary for all the events we live stream, many cameramen working at sporting events in particular love the security and convenience that the tally lights afford. Fortunately for us there is no shortage of sporting events to cover! From BMX Competitions in Spain and Argentina, to the G8 Summit in Northern Ireland and Cage Fighting across the UK – it’s an athletic feat in itself jet-setting around the globe live-streaming these events.
Thus it seemed the inclusion of the Boxx Wireless Tally system was a natural move for us. Most recently, the tally lights proved a vital ingredient in the smooth and seamless live streaming of the VANS Spring Classic Skate Competition in Varazze, Italy earlier this month. Our camera crew, strategically positioned around the unique, custom-built skate ramp on the beach had the best equipment and support to film the event which was watched live by tens of thousands of skate fans from 78 different countries.
The Boxx Wireless tally system (from a company that has won an Emmy award for Engineering Excellence), boasts transmitters supporting up to five tally channels, operating on ten different frequencies, allowing our production crew in Mildred to better control the quality of the end product.
